Motivation Monday for an Unmotivated Day

Hello Friends!

It has been a hot minute since my last blog post or my last Motivational Monday Video. We are bringing them back today two weeks before Christmas because we are back to Remote Learning.

For some of us, the return to online learning is coming at a good time. We are ready for a break and we are ready to be home for a bit. For others of us, the return to online learning is upsetting. Its only Monday, but already we are missing our friends and our routines. And yet others of us are just tired.

We are tired of masks; we are tired of this pandemic; we are tired of this weird world we are living in. We are tired of information and misinformation. We are tired of fighting and disagreements. We are tired of missing our normal lives.

But wait, you might be thinking. "Is this really our Motivational Monday message? This sounds a bit glum." Don't worry, friends, I am getting there. The motivation is this. Whatever you are feeling is okay. You are okay. If you need a break, take a break. If you are sad, be sad. If you are tired, rest. You can feel whatever feelings you have. Because at the end of all this, it is going to be okay. Even if its hard. Even if it doesn't feel that way right now.

I'm not trying to ruin the story for you but I want you to know it is going to be okay. I didn't even need to read the last page to know this. You are going to be okay. I know this, because I know you. I know just how amazing you are. I know the limitless potential that you have. I know that you can do great things. Because I have already seen you do great things. Even when you don't realize it. You make the world a better place. Some days you do big things that make the world better and some days you make the world better in small, mundane, and magical ways. Some days you smile at a stranger and some days you check in with a friend. Some days you hold the door open or you pick up a piece of trash. Some days you rest and some days you race. But every day the world is better because you are in it. My world is better because of you.

This morning when I woke up it was snowing. Big, fat, beautiful snowflakes were coming down. So I sat in front of my window for a few minutes, just staring at them and marveling in the beauty that is in the world around us. You are a part of this world's beauty. The same world that needed the stars, and the moon, that needed sunrises and sunsets, that needed snowflakes and oceans and the Grand Canyon. That world, needed you. It needed your unique beauty. You are just as majestic as an ocean, just as impressive as the Grand Canyon, just as glorious as the sunrise.

As we start this week, remember you are okay. You are awesome. You can do great things.
